LEARNING OUTCOME

LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE SHORT VIDEO

Guys, as Stephen Covey said in his book 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People', "Begin with the end in mind". So what was the end purpose of making our video?
Yes to create awareness and tell people about the modern-day pandemic, but also, to get hands-on-learning experience of making videos. So these are number of things that we learned, listed in bullet form so to make your ride with us more enjoyable 😀
  • Working with teammates. The project allowed me to bond with my teammate and helped our team become stronger

  • Experimenting with Lighting. Before starting our main project, we decided to experiment a little bit with lighting and location. Some shots are taken from Shadow-ward side, whilst some of them the lighting-ward side.  Most importantly, all the nature shots are taken in golden hours i.e. the time just before sunset, which enhances the cinematic experience
  • Experimenting with Symbolic Codes. If you analyze the art piece. You will notice that there has been a use of illumination and show to symbolize good & evil. All the urban shots are taken at night whilst all the nature shots are taken at day time
  • Camera Angles. We played around with camera angles as well. Some shots are super close-up, whilst some of them are wide-angle.
  • Editing. Helped integrate the editing theory into a visual form. We used a Fade cut in the end.
Overall, it was a lovely experience, and helped us get first-hand experience, and that is what we need when we're making our final product. Though theory is very important, but as they say "One minute in the field is more beneficial compared to 4 years in the university."

Anyways, see you all in the next blog post. Cheers!
