AN INTRODUCTION TO LINGUISTICS

 TERMINOLOGIES USED THROUGHOUT OUR BLOG RIDE

As a wise man once said 

"The greatest obstacle to understanding is the barrier of language"

In order for you to understand every blog post, there are some specific expressions that we will be using throughout, and you need to know them.

• First of all, we will not be referring to this platform as a 'blog', it will be interchangeably  be referred to as a 'ride' or 'journey'. As it truly is, in its essence. 

We're going on a trip together to the world of Media and we'll be working hard to understand its complexities and elements as simply as we can. 

• Secondly, As we have established that this is a bus ride, therefore the readers will mainly be referred to as 'passengers' and 'ridemates'. Interactive messages and notes will be released every once in a while for the passengers in order to ensure their enjoyment throughout the trip.

• Thirdly, the creator of this blog (me), Yusha Jawad will be referred to as the 'bus driver' or 'chauffeur', as my job is to navigate you through the valleys and mountains of media studies, guarding you from obstacles along our ride, such as the dragons of disinterest, and serpents of inconsistency. 
• Whereas the second member of this team, Arman-ul-Haq will be referred to as the bus conductor, who supports the bus driver throughout the journey, and also makes sure that the passengers have a cold coffee and a burger in their hand as they're fighting the serpent of inconsistency.

• Fourthly, the film we're making for our AS Media Section 2 will not be referred to as 'film' or 'short movie'. It will mainly be referred to as 'masterpiece', or ' product', or 'piece of art', or 'sensation'.

Words like 'short movie' do not commensurate to what we're going to make. Words like these take the soul out of the art. 

However, when we use terms like 'masterpiece' and 'sensation', it truly captures the intensity of our work, and the art of media. We're to respect Media and we are to use words that accurately show our respect. 

Important Note: The tone will be kept conversational, with recurring elements of humor and puns.

Now that we have understood the wise man, and efficiently smashed the language barrier, effective communication therefore take place from now on.
